Soaring skyward from the dusty plains of western Senegal (170 kilometers due east of the capital of Dakar), stands the Great Mosque of Touba. Constructed in 1926 to house the tomb of the Senegalese saint, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, the enormous mosque is the most visited Islamic pilgrimage site in West Africa. Its a beautiful mosque.
